Entro la fine del mese l’era dei Torrent è finita, a sancire il verdetto sono stati i ragazzi di “The Pirate Bay” che hanno deciso di abbandonare i file .torrent.
Questo non vuole dire che sia la fine del P2P, ma solamente una evoluzione. Infatti invece di utilizzare i file .torrent (puntatore fisico per avviare il download su BitTorrent) verranno utilizzati i Magnet Link (più leggeri dei precedenti).
Grazie ai Magnet Link invece che scaricare un .torrent prima di avviare un download su BitTorrent l’utente verrà immediatamente diretto all’hash della risorsa da scaricare su rete distribuita (DHT) senza tracker centralizzati.
Uno dei vantaggi del Magnet Link è il minor utilizzo della banda rispetto ai vecchi torrent.Invece per quanto riguarda l’utente finale questo passaggio sarà trasparente, ci potrebbero essere dei piccoli problemi tecnici e/o di ritardo nei primi giorni.
Ma il motivo di questo abbandono, da parte di “The Pirate Bay”, dei torrent ? Semplice aumentare la sicurezza e diventare sempre più protetti da possibili attacchi, chiusure e/o censure.
