Forse è un estremo, ma che non si allontana troppo dalla realtà. Infatti da uno studio eseguito da Verizon (Operatore di Telefonia mobile negli USA) è emerso che, nello scorso anno, sono stati rubati 174 milioni di dati!
Sotto accusa ci sono le 855 falle di sicurezza rilevate nei sistemi informatici. Il 60% di questi attacchi proviene da “hacker” i quali hanno superato, per volume di danni, la criminalità organizzata. Un quarto di questi attacchi informatici ha come soggetto interessato Anonymous il quale, nel 2011, con la scusa di sposare alcune “cause sociali” ha messo in ginocchio molti siti istituzionali.
La tecnica più comune utilizzata da questi hacker è quella della Social Engineering, grazie alla quale vengono in possesso della password del malcapitato.
I motivi di questi attacchi ? Il 75% delle volte è da imputare a motivi economici (in questo caso non sono hacker ma semplici criminali), mentre nel rimanente 25% sono attacchi per protesta o per supportare qualche “causa sociale”.
